thanks for the commits i wonted some opinions from others if they new of company's required to put in converters or not.my biggest problem is when truck turns off with the converter on and have the fan on for heat or for ac or just cool air in the cab it drains down the battery to around 12.3 volts and causes my cpap to turn off so i guess ill ask my company shop to in stale a converter for me even if i have to pay for it /i just hope they will connect one to the battery if not ill have to find a company that will.thanks all..lyion

I'm not a trucker but if the inverter thing isn't available in your truck because of company policy, or power turning off after some time, or no-idle rules then wouldn't going the auxiliary battery route be the way to go? If you created your own DC supply with a battery to use at night you wouldn't need to worry about what plugs were always on and how long "always" meant, and you wouldn't need to idle. Then during the day you could charge the battery via one of those DC outlets. Seems to me you would be more in control of your overnight power this way although obviously an inverter with the ability to run it all night would be more convenient.

Then there's the travel Xpaps that don't use much current at all. I've dry camped up to 4 days using my Z1 every night without running out of juice in my 12v deep cycle battery.

Also be sure to tell the company how fast power goes out. After running all day (or 5-6 hours) your batteries should have enough juice to run heat or a/c and cap most of the night, if you don't run blowers full on. Could be a bad battery in the bunch causing fast drain. I had that. 12.3 came FAST.

yes, thanks ill tell them at shop about checking batteries it shuts off now at 12.4 volts in about 40 mins.i talked to the owner of truck he said it shouldn't be a problem hooking it up to batteries ." my company is bringing me to shop to service truck this week so hope ill be getting better sleep soon .having to get up every hour cause machine cuts off has been taken a toll on me .ill reply back at end of week.!" lyion ..
