Differences between the S9 and the Airsense 10:

* S9 has a smaller footprint/size without its humidifier (so better for traveling, if a humidifier is not always required)
* S9 + h5i humidifier is much bigger than the Airsense 10 with its humidifier. However, since it's a separate device on the S9, much easier to repair/fix without replacing the whole device
* A10 sold with humidifier can't be used without the chamber, without buying an extra door on the side. Chamber can amplify breathing noise
* Power bricks are about the same size and weight. However, it's possible to buy a smaller/lighter 30w travel power supply for the S9 (can only be used without the humidifier)
* S9 heated tube can only be used with the humidifier connected to the machine. On the A10, heated tube can be used with or without humidifier
* A10 humidifier tank/tub is slightly easier to clean
* In term of functionality, they are about the same. I believe the pressure algorithms are pretty much the same
* A10 has a built-in cell/GSM connection, to report summary data/compliance to the Resmed servers/MyAir. Can be annoying, as when switched off, keeps displaying messages
* there seem to be more people complaining about the noise level of the A10 (any models), particularly when used with the humidifier chamber. Some random units are noisier than others
* Filters are the same
* Non-heated hoses (including slimline) are the same
* Padded bags are equivalent in size. The A10 bag is probably a bit more rigid and I think nicer

There is no permanent way to shut this 'feature' off. Instead of a way for you to directly get this information one needs to contact the local service center where one is to hope there is adequate computer security to get one's own information.
Somehow I'm not so trusting that my information is being handled using high (or better) security techniques. If you put your machine in airplane mode you can temporarily shut this information flow off - - -- BUT the machine hates this function and complains about it at every turn on and off (a very bad case of nagging!!!!).

If you think I'm over paranoid about security I would suggest that research what the cheesy starlet that posted compromising photos of herself on her iphone account thinks of the hack that got those images sold out onto the web.
Do you want YOUR information out there that way - - - me - - - - no cotton pickin' way!! (yet I'm not allowed to choose - - - - and that's really not good!!)
Stop posting selfies to your S-10, I don't want to see that! Jim

I still cannot fathom what is to worry about someone seeing your CPAP results? Those who are worried about privacy issues, what is it specifically that can be transmitted that concerns you if intercepted, and what is the damage that an intercepted CPAP nights results can cause to you?

Me, I come close to bragging about using an APAP and the wonders of its use, so I have no privacy issues about it at all.

Whether you transmit the data are not the manufacture is selling it to everyone, that's the thing about warranties, now they are mailing lists. Facts of living today. Jim

Do you actually know the mfr is selling peoples APAP treatment data? If you do then you can get a lot of money for a whistle-blower suit as its illegal to sell people's medical information in the US.

Never said medical data, personal data, name, rank, and serial number. (phone #)...

It's starts with affiliates, then anyone that will pay. I also was talking, about warranties. I don't get near whistle-blowers, they are perverted! Stay away from my Whistle Jim

If it's on the internet, it's subjected to being leaked.

Go to airplane mode on the home screen and switch it on. You can't get data for your phone app or computer either but the outsiders can't get data either
