Following this thread, I've been wondering the same thing. Why is an "Autopap" NEEDED?

From the limited information in this thread, I would surmise it's because she cannot afford a sleep study since she's paying out of pocket? She may have had a take home study that determined the dx of OSA but I'd unable to fund an overnight titration study, in which case an APAP would be extremely helpful in getting therapy started rather than waiting until funds are available for a full PSG. Send to me that's what we advocate here isn't it? Taking control of your therapy?
