Yep, getting the lid off is hardest part to changing things out. That and making sure that little plug thing is firmly seated. I didn't get it quite plugged in my first try.
Once the heated hose is plugged in the machine will automatically detect it but you will need to go into the setup menu area to set the humidity choice...1 through 3 (70, 80, 90%). I think the default is 2.
Air temp you can control with the knob on the blower...1 through 6 with 1 being 4 degrees above room temp to 6 being 16 degrees above room temp.

So your final air temp choice will be your personal preference based on your preferred bedroom ambient air temp and what it takes to prevent rain out.

though there's folks here that will disagree, I'm always happy to help someone learn, though i freely admit that I have very little patience with those that aren't trying to figure things out for themselves and just want it handed to them on a silver platter.

it's also been pointed out that I've got the bedside manner of Doctor House... while Pugsy is much more of a Doctor Wilson... calm, patient, and has greatly detailed explanations for stuff where I tend to go for the gist of it in a couple sentences.
