Don't you just hate it when you have typed a nice long response with a lot of thought put into it and hit a weird key and "poof" there it goes into never never land and we can't bring it back? You should here me use some rather strong words when I do that.
Yep, getting the lid off is hardest part to changing things out. That and making sure that little plug thing is firmly seated. I didn't get it quite plugged in my first try.
Once the heated hose is plugged in the machine will automatically detect it but you will need to go into the setup menu area to set the humidity choice...1 through 3 (70, 80, 90%). I think the default is 2.
Air temp you can control with the knob on the blower...1 through 6 with 1 being 4 degrees above room temp to 6 being 16 degrees above room temp.

So your final air temp choice will be your personal preference based on your preferred bedroom ambient air temp and what it takes to prevent rain out.
