NHS sleep test tonight - anxious.

Post by JediDave » Sun Nov 02, 2014 12:03 pm

Hi all,

I have a sleep test tonight within the NHS. I have a device which is worn around the wrist and attaches to my finger to measure oxygen levels and heart rate throughout the night, and I then have an appointment with the clinic tomorrow to discuss.

I'm actually getting myself pretty nervous about the consequences of NOT having sleepapnea. I worry about my job, as I often deel incredibly tired at work and cant focus (sometimes find myself 'resting my eyes' for a moment... In an open plan office! My father had OSA so I know the benefits of treatment. Though I have mornings where I wake up and I HAVE been dreaming so obviously I must have entered REM sleep at some point which, again, causes me to worry that this may be another issue.

Anyway, will know for sure tomorrow I guess!

So they are screening with a WatchPat, now?
They have been around for over ten years, and with recent upgrades.
An inexpensive alternative to the difficult and costly PSG , but with limited capability.
Sleeping on your back may enhance the results.

They? I'm not sure what WatchPat is but every region has different procedures in the NHS.

Search in your browser for WatchPat. Read and learn. Lots of info on it.
