Since they are not logged in, you can claim they are anyone you want.

In the blue bar below, there's an option to "Delete all board cookies"......you need to do that in addition to removing your browser cookies and temporary internet files on your computer. But, there are no guarantees you'll remain anonymous.
IF........somebody reloads some files on the server with your cookies in the reloaded files......then you'll be "outed" (if you've posted here with a logged-in user name from your computer before).

Using a computer which has never been used to log in; and a public wifi,
I would imagine it possible.
But why hide my snark?

Must be IP address...I just used a different computer that I have never used or logged in on here at the forum.
No cookies anywhere in it for cpaptalk.com.

I'm not an IT pro but I've set up a phpBB forum like this one. The IP address is recognized by the system. Beyond that I don't know but there's likely a way to fool the system -- right arch?

I guess the reason we see this here and not on other forums is that you can post without being logged in, which you can't do anywhere else that I know of.

I read up on the proxy IP address thing last night. I was going to try it until I found out I had to pay to have the service...they don't let you do that for free.
So...that ended that experiment. I didn't look at all of them but enough.
So if I am going to be a bitch and get snarky...it will be under this ID.

Well, I could try this on my cellphone but I am not that desperate to be snarky. Like you, if I want to be that way, it will be under my current ID.
