I don't know which model you are interested in from papman but if it's the S9....here's the clinical manual for it and it explains how to set the pressures...super easy.
http://www.apneuvereniging.nl/forum/pdf ... manual.pdf
If it's the AirSense model you can request that manual here

He may be including that provider manual...but just in case not or it gets lost...these manuals show how easy it is to set things up yourself.

Check with your insurance and find out who are your local "in-network" DME's (CPAP sellers). Feel free to try another DME.
The two copays (if correct) may be the way your insurance works. It sounds a little screwy, though. I'd expect you to pay a one-time x% copay on the first month, and then pay your yearly deductible in January. The DME shouldn't bill more in January than in December, but you may have to pay the full bill the first month because it goes towards your deductible.
If you meet your insurance deductible during the year, paying the deductible in January doesn't make any long term cost difference because whatever money you pay extra in January makes your deductible run out earlier and you will save it back on later medical bills.

Do be sure to get a good data capable CPAP machine. There are links in my signature line about what machine to get.
Don't trust the DME about what machine is data capable. If it's midnight and a DME tells you it's dark outside, go look for yourself.

Thank you pugsy and archangle. We are decided on the S9 but are still waiting for the prescription to make sure.
Our insurance said they will only to rent to own, they won't cover an outright purchase. So the two deductibles would apply - one for 2014 and one for 2015. Better to buy it, we actually pay less. What a scam. Sorry, all this research is making me bitter about how tough the doctors and CMEs make this.

And insurance companies. Don't forget them.
