I am currently renting my CPAP. I just started using a REMstar Auto with humidifier about a week ago. I was on a REMstar Plus before that.

My DME provider delivered a REMstar Pro just before the REMstar Auto because of some confusion about the features I needed in my new machine. (See this thread: viewtopic.php?t=79 ) The Pro was SO loud; it kept my husband and me awake. I called my provider and we changed to the Auto, but I also told them about how loud the Pro was.

They "red-tagged" the Pro when they took it back. It should not have been loud, and the sound was a sign of a malfunction.

Is it possible your machine is malfunctioning? Can you describe the sound?

Quiet Machine

I have a Puritan Bennett Goodknight 420. I use CPAP but they have an AutoPAP in the 420 line too. I don't have any comparison but I think it is fairly quiet. Another advantage is that this machine is tiny and light - one and a half pounds.

They can be connected to a passover humidifier and also Puritan Bennett is supposed to bring out a heated humidifier for the machine some time this month.

Good luck Paul

I have a REMStar Pro and it is almost silent, a light "breeze" sound is almost all that can be heard.

Sounds like a bad unit to me.
