Do try to reach Johnny or Carolyn tho', because something does sound cockeyed there... not at all the usual 'service'. Maybe someone was filling in vacation-wise for a regular and you just got stuck with ignorance. Give them a chance to fix it.
Thanks, Julie -- I do intend to give another go. Despite what "Den" thinks, I have been in customer service a LONG time and have also owned my own business. That may be why I was *so* shocked by the non-service I received today. I have bent WAY over backwards for my own customers so expect at the very least some respect when I am the customer. Oh, yeah -- I have no patience with people that have no patience.

I've been a part of this forum since 2011. I have never heard an unkind thing about CPAP.com; quite the contrary. I'm also including other sites I've visited. Of course, there is always a first time I guess... I'm just very surprised.

Views are not yet even close to 800. The advertising money from CPAP.com has to go further than this. Keep it up. Come'on halo devil....get things going.

If you haven't already done so, take the water tank out first. Then detach the humidifier from the blower. Run it without the humidifier. Look inside the humidifier for places it could be leaking. Take out the filters and run it momentarily with no filter. Put your thumb over the end of the hose to block off the air, etc. Does it go up and down in pitch or volume as you inhale and exhale?

To tell you the truth, I've had a "problem" with anybody badmouthing specific DMEs on the forum. To me, it's a personal and business situation and that doesn't belong on the forum. You got a problem with them?........work it out with THEM. Don't be a foul mouth jerk posting about it.
Yes, there have been a few folks who tried to badmouth CPAP-dot-COM in the forum. But, when they've FINALLY dealt with the owners (Johnny and Carolyn), they've had to eat crow. Their not-so-positive experiences have been a drop in the bucket. The vast majority of us have had positive experiences.......as you have probably detected by the feedback.
I realize it's kind of hard to exclude the Apria and Lincare experiences, but lots of times it's "They're doing this and that and I don't know what to do."
On the other hand, when people DO have problems, it usually stems from their lack of research into who they're doing business with.
So, my advice is to STOP IT and deal with it OFF OF THE FORUM and like a business person you claim to be.
You're not winning over any converts here. Nobody really gives a crap about your business dealings with someone off of the forum.
Personally, I suspect you have something assembled incorrectly.

Phil587, I am sorry you got the "run around" from someone at CPAP.com. I am not going to defend that, except to say that when I worked in retail (many years ago, and in 2 different countries from the one I live in now), the customer is always the customer. Not always right, but always the customer. Sadly, many people in the selling field seem to forget that these days - maybe it is reflective of the way society is going? Also, be fair to the company - the person you talked to may also have been having a bad day.
With regard to your machine, I don't doubt that there is something wrong with it that managed to get past all the quality control checks. My first concern would be whether everything is fitting together as it should be - particularly where the hose attaches, and where the humidifier attaches to the machine - regardless of whether you actually use the humidifier. Are you using the ramp feature? Is the noise less at lower pressures? To me that could imply a small leak or, as you suggest, a problem with the pump itself. You indicated that you had used the machine 2 nights - were both as bad as each other, or could something have happened between night 1 and night 2? With my checks I wouldn't be looking at doing major maintenance on the machine, just taking it all apart to the extent the user is supposed to be able to do, then fitting it back together again. Clearly you need something to get you through the weekend, so I would be looking for something cheap on Craigs list. Sometimes there are back-up machines offered on this site at very reasonable rates. You would need to act fast to get something before the weekend.
Finally, when you do get to speak with Johnny or Carolyn, would it be possible to have the machine close to the phone so you could demonstrate to them what the problem sounds like - maybe they will have some suggestions.
Good luck. By the way, I don't make my mind up about a store based on a single bad experience - I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Once. After that, they need to demonstrate that they really do want my business. I also listen to/read what other people have to say about the store. The people who go crazy about how good the store is get discounted. The people who go crazy about how bad the store is get discounted. Extremes do occur, but don't indicate what the usual performance of that store is. On balance, I think you will find most people have had a good experience with our hosts. But at the end of the day there are other online suppliers who may or may not do a better job - let your fingers do the walking.

Thanks for the tips, archangle. Yes, I have done all those things and more at the suggestions of the Philips engineers. They had me do a whole litany of tests before they pronounced the machine "bad". Their only suggestion beyond that was to get with my provider, which is why I called CPAP where I bought the machine. To answer your question -- yes, it gets louder and higher in pitch when I inhale. I took the filters out last night and the dam broke -- it was really loud then. It's looking like I made a very bad purchase decision, both brand and sales point.
Thanks for your help!

LOL -- you are a real hoot. Would you care to tell the Philips engineers it's assembled wrong. They walked me through the entire process today with me texting them pictures during the process. Face it, "Den", I was shipped a defective product and the shipper refused to make it "right". Fact!

Finally, a voice of reason in the wilderness. Thank you for your comments and thoughts, SleepyToo2 -- they were well received. I would suspect most of what you say is fact but it's up to the seller to prove it.
Thank you

Not "fact". You refused their terms to send it back to have it sent to the factory for diagnostics or repair. You wanted them to provide you with a "freebie" replacement machine.
It's not their fault that you got a machine that had issues. You're making yourself look like an idiot in the way you're going about dealing with it.
