If you changed PS minimum to 0 the machine would function like an APAP and not a bipap. You wouldn't like that after using 5 PS for a while at your pressures.

That would be correct.

Here's an example. My min EPAP is 10 cm....PS was 4 min and 5 max I think but it rarely did 5 and max IPAP was 20. I rarely hit max IPAP. The little saw tooth looking spikes that you see are the auto mode pressure probes...little increases just to test things a little. It's a normal function of both the Respironics auto adjusting pressures...be it bipap or apap.

So, I see the little "test" pressure spikes and then I see the pressure rise, both E and I, in response to your OA's, hypopneas, and etc. Very cool. That's what I am after to take out my final bit of trouble.

So, after finishing my first night on auto-BiPAP, I am anxious to get home so I can check my numbers. What I did see this morning on awakening was an AHI of 1.7 -- about average for me over the last 6 weeks but, most importantly, was the pressure difference. I have been on straight BiPAP for the last 6 weeks at 19I/15E. Last night my 90% average was I18.5/E13.5. Now the I drop was insignificant and not noticed by me but the E difference was *very* significant. Breathing out against 13.5 CM3 is VERY different than breathing out against 15. I consider that a major improvement in my therapy. Now for the fine-tuning.
