Sorry to revived this topic, but I'm 2 weeks into my cpap and now starting to have very impact stool and constipation. Nothing else has changed but now I started to intake more water (around 4-6L now).

Just wondering how everyone got through this?

I will get my check up very soon.

Glad to have found this post. I also began experiencing severe constipation after starting with CPAP a month ago. No changes in diet or exercise, so have been trying to pin down the cause. I will up my water intake and see what happens.

CPAP doesn't cause dehydration and constipation.

AFAIK first treatment for constipation is drinking more water. In fact, taking a fiber supplement like Psyllium without additional water can lead to worse constipation and fecal impaction!

Following up on my earlier post on this thread, it is now 2 months since starting on CPAP. I have been taking a tablespoon of olive oil with breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a couple of weeks (saw it recommended somewhere), and it has relieved my constipation issues significantly. :)

Any fat will help--olive oil has other benefits as well.
