To lurk or not to lurk...

Post by Suzjohnson » Thu Apr 19, 2012 11:45 am

Guess I'm choosing, finally, to introduce myself. Hi, I'm Suzanne and in spite of what originally brought me here, fear, curiosity, desire to learn more, I am so happy to have the benefit of your collective knowledge and experience. This odyssey began for me in January when the neurologist (also a sleep doc) I was seeing for severe headaches, noted, from an overnight ox study, that I was having multiple, dangerously low blood oxygen events at night. This, logically, lead to the first over night sleep study. At the follow-up appt. with him, he explained all the graphs and charts very thoroughly as we went through them but what do I remember? Nothing other than his saying "It's pretty bad". LOL!! Brain-fog and shock, I suppose. Did the titration study a couple of weeks ago and have the follow-up appt. tomorrow morning. I'm nervous but well armed for this meeting thanks to all I have read here. Hope to get my equipment next week.

I want to personally thank RobySue and Janknitz for their thoughtful and thorough blogs. If I have missed anyone else's blog, goodness, let me know!

Suzanne

I lurked for close to 5 months--found all my answers without asking.
The much-maligned search tool isn't totally useless.
Anyhow, Welcome, Suze.

Thanks! You're right. The search tool is my friend! I see you're from Nebraska. My grown kids live there, wish I did too.

Welcome. One suggestion - Get copies of your sleep studies for your own files. As you go along and begin to comprehend and/or remember more you'll have questions pop up about the specifics of your situation and you won't have to wait on a call-back from the doctor or an appointment to get answers. Get more than just the summary page. The breakdown is usually several pages. Great information to have at hand going forward.
