-wants to know more about CPAP
Hi,
I am on my second type of mask. I started out with a full face mask because I didn't think I would be able to breathe through my nose only. It didn't seal right or even fit my face right so I called my respiratory company and met with a therapist. She recommended the one I am using now. It is a gel nasal mask and I really like it. It seals nicely and is a soft seal on my face. I hardly have any marks on my face when I get up and if I do, they are gone by the time I go to work.
I saw it on one of the websites someone mentioned here. It's from Respironice, I believe. I know there are alot of choices out there so keep trying until you find what works for you. Have your respiratory provider work with you. Good luck.

CPAP has saved my life!!
I had problems with my first mask because I have very sensitive skin. My durable medical equipment (DME) provider suggested the Puritan Bennett Breeze with nasal pillows.
It sits on my head like a hat, and the tube is held away from my face by a plastic support piece. Nothing touches my face except at my nose and upper lip.
I am very happy with the Breeze and have not had any problems with it. I can roll from side to side and even sleep on my stomach. My report from my CPAP machine confirms that I have never had a leak problem with it.

Hi Edie,
Can you sleep on your back with that type of headgear? It looks like the hose goes up the back. I like to sleep on my back now that I can breathe! Am curious and interested in anything that gets more of the mask off my face. I am pretty happy with what I'm using but maybe there's something even better yet for me.
Thanks

Hi Suserbec,
Sorry for the delayed response, I'm currently traveling.
I can sleep fine on my back. The only time the hose is down the back of your head is if you are sitting or standing upright.
Looking at the photo, the straps attach just above the forehead, then you see where the hose is held in place by a small clip on each side about three inches past the strap. That's the last place the tube is attached and it's free to move from there.
Hope this helps!

I got used to wearing contacts & braces, and now I'm used to CPAP, too.
