Help (PLEASE) What doctors like the auto pap and where?

Post by th » Sun Jul 31, 2005 8:12 pm

My mother in law does not like her bi-pap VPAPIII. Her pressure is 14/9. Her AHI Runs 15.9. I brought my RemStar auto over for her to try and set it for 6 to 16 with C Flex 3. Her AHI was 6 with RemStar auto and her apnea was corrected at 12. She spent half the night on the low numbers 6,7,8and was only on 12 for around 30mins. only reach 14 for 5 mins. She love it and thought it was easier to breathe than the bi pap. Here is the problem, Her Doctor hates the auto and does not want to work with her. it is his way or the highway. I told my mother-in-law to forget him. If she wanted one(auto) I would buy her one online. She said it bothers her that every doctor and everything she reads about the APAP from doctors is to stay away from them. Is there a web site by a doctor that praises the auto or is there a doctor in the NC area that likes the auto?
thanks
th

I found a Doctor see we do have Doctors in North Carolina, and you thought we just had BBQ. I called CAROLINA RESPIRATORY SPECIALISTS and found a doctor who will work with her a William Charles Sherrill Jr, MD ph# 704 948 9624. Huntersville, NC. I just need to bring her records and sleep study in. They were very nice and also they will work with her husband on doing a sleep study at home since he cannot do a traditional sleep study......... Thanks to all. I am glad there are doctors that still care and are not just into the $$$$$$$. I will keep you posted on how both of them do th

th,
I was surprised you couldn't find a supporting doctor closer to Winston-Salem.

Huntersville seems such a long way to travel. I would have thought Greensboro or Durham or Cary or even Raleigh.

Anyway, Glad you found one.
