I have been using a remstar plus with c-flex and a ultra mirage full face mask on a pressure of 10 for two months,it was working ok for a few weeks but then I started to take the mask off in the middle of the night.I am a mouth breather that is why I went for the full face mask, but I got a ichy nose and I thought that was why I was taking off the mask.I am now trying a fisher & paykel 604 an a oracle mask, which was ok for a few days now I am taking that off aswell...........Can anyone HELP........
Keep taking the mask OFF
Itchy nose syndrome
Glen,
I too keep getting an itchy nose too but have discovered that after I lift the mask so I can scratch it, I then have sealing troubles.
So I am going to train myself to ignore itches (using mediation techniques)
Bummer You have my sympathy.
Cheers Doug

Removing the mask during the night
Hello Dsm
Yes, we have all gone thru this stage with getting used to wearing a mask at night, only to suffer from the "Amazing Vanishing Mask Sydrome" I had that problem when I started wearing the mask on my face at night.
I had to "train" myself to wear the mask......I often wore the mask during some of my waking hour to get used to the feel of having a nasal mask on my face. It took about a month to get used to keeping the mask on during the night. I tried taping the velcro straps shut on 3 x of my mask set up and left one untaped so I can get that "thing" off my face!
It trained me to keep the mask on my face as sometimes I'd wake myself up in during my mid attempt of trying to get the mask off!!! [which was unsuccessful] As it woke me up and I often caught myself tugging at the head straps in half asleep attempt to remove it.
But because the straps are taped shut, it takes a "concious" effort to remove the mask off my face. Eventually after been awaken by half sleep attempts at removing the nasal mask I taught myself fold my arms across my chest and when I'd wake up to roll over fall asleep again!!! [sleeping on my arms sometimes!
Now I am able to keep the mask on most of time.......but I still have some odd moments when I lose my mask!
