Mirapex and Gambling

Post by MartiniLover » Sun Jul 17, 2005 6:03 pm

This has been reported for over two years, but I first saw it in my local newspaper today. Latest link from Mayo Clinc.

If you are taking it for RLS you might want to read this, and lock up your wallet and credit cards.

Have been taking about .5 mg of Mirapex every night for over a year now. No urge to gamble at all. Seems to be without side effects for me.

The doses used for restless leg syndrome are significantly less than used for Parkinsons, and the problem apparently isn't common even among Parkinsons patients.
Started CPAP on 7/1/2005
Mild apnea
Plus upper airway resistance syndrome with severe alpha intrusion

I take three a day and don't have even the slightest urge, in fact I hate gambling. I am going to Las Vegas on business this next week and I bet I will be the only one that goes there and will not gamble once.
