My current cpap (Medicare) supplier) is ignoring me

Post by Onyer6 » Thu Jan 23, 2025 7:58 am

They used to call me long before I needed anything. I asked them to just let me call them. Lately they seem to be ignoring me.
On Dec 19 I got a call from them to go over an order. I was boarding a plane and ask them to call back. They never did. I've left several messages over these last 5 weeks, even after hours and not a peep. What are my options for ordering equip't under Medicare. I will call my cpap medical professional, as well.
30 min. Update
I called my equip't provider and got a live local person rather quickly. 'We recently changed over our system and some accounts may have been lost.' What about all my recent messages? 'I don't know.' I put in my order for everything from the tube to the head gear to the nasal cushion. 'That comes with 6 nasal cushions as we recommend you change them every 2 weeks.' 'I bet you do' (I think I thought that, but didn't say it). I find that for me, they last at least 6 mos before they leak. I don't like wasting anybody's money. So now we wait. I would like to deal with a more ethical shop. Any suggestions?

This is a good idea. They hear from many of their patients and learn which DMEs provide good customer support.

BTW, who is your DME? Crapria, by any chance?

Not confidence inspiring by any means. Best suggestion I can think of is to line up an alternate while you wait for you order to process. That way it's not a mad scramble if you need to switch. And maybe take advantage of their greed and stock up a bit in case there's another "interruption"

Does your supplier have an online ordering system for supplies? My DME calls me when I'm eligible for replacement supplies, but I generally ignore the calls and just let them leave a voice message, as it's much easier to use their online ordering to order just the items I need rather than trying to listen to a list of supplies by the DME sale person and not knowing for sure what I might need at the moment they call. The online ordering has worked well and I do get emails when I'm eligible for supplies also.

When I'm eligible for new supplies my DME sends an email and then I just follow the link. I order, or not, the items needed, and they get delivered in a couple of days.
