Cheaper Plastic? Resmed F30i Mask

Post by cabanalane » Fri Dec 27, 2024 4:54 pm

Been a CPAP F30i User for 4 years. In past years, I would change the mask (not talking about the cushion) maybe every 6 months. I think I may even have gone longer. I clean them, and felt like a waste just to throw them away. My insurance have a set schedule, so now I shorten the replacement to 3 months. I don't actually recall what the schedule is, but again they still work well, and even with insurance, there is still a cost.

The last two mask have just broken off at where it clips on to the cushion. See pic with black arrow. This is the second time this happened. Thinking about it, both plastic broke off in the same year (2024), about 3 months of use.

I do have a new one, so I'm good, but the prior 3 years, the plastic has been never broken off like that. I have the same routine every night and been careful removing the cushion to wash it.

Has this happened to you?

It has not happened to me but this past year I switched ResMed masks and found the newer ones to be made of thinner lighter plastic which is a good thing. I am very careful with them.
