Dreamstation autobipap settings

I want to try using my bipap in this mode. Do you leave the settings at default? Will they then provide pressures as you need it within those parameters?

The default settings for DreamStation Auto BiPAP are as follows:
IPAP: 25 CM H2O
EPAP: 4 CM H2O
PS Min: 2
PS Max 8
Bi-Flex: On 2

Leaving the machine in Auto BiPAP mode with the settings wide open is usually not a good idea.

To determine a decent set of Auto settings, it would help us if you would tell us what your current fixed BiPAP settings are.

In general, the Min EPAP should not be set too much below your current fixed EPAP pressure. You could keep Max IPAP = 25, but if your current fixed IPAP is significantly less than 25 cm, then I would set the max IPAP to a bit above your fixed IPAP. As for the min and max PS settings, again, I would consider your fixed PS setting. You want the min PS to not be too much below your current PS setting. As for the max PS setting? There's very little (but not no) chance that the machine might increase IPAP without increasing EPAP to the point where the PS increased all the way up to 8cm. But it is worth noting that a few people do start having problems with CAs creeping in when the PS gets to 6cm (or above) and stays there for long periods of time.
