How to clean out black grime, inside AirSense 10's unopenable motor chamber?

Post by antinatalism » Mon Nov 25, 2024 4:46 am

Compressed air, hair dryer, vacuum cleaner couldn't remove this black grit off the side glass, or blades. Toothpicks, cotton swabs couldn't reach the sides.

How else can I clear away, and wipe out, this black grime?

As this motor works fine, I don't want to waste $200 USD on a new motor. I don't know what this black smut is. I don't burn or smoke anything. Whole-house central HEPA is installed into my home's HVAC.

A couple questions......
- Do you live in an area where there are wildfires and prevailing smoke? City smog?
- Do you use a SoClean or other similar CPAP cleaning device?

Is this the motor?

Might be worth it and you can work on the other at your leisure, good luck.

The guy on YouTube cleaned it. Jump to the 4:32 mark as he cleaned out the whole unit. I was surprised that it survived...

Never any wildfires, prevailing smoke, or smog in my area. I don't live in the city.
Never SoClean or ozone. My foam is in mint condition.

Amazon doesn't sell official replacement motors by ResMed. Thanks for your link, but it's unofficial and made in China. I am afraid of buying from Amazon's sketchy brands.

Not sure what components are made in China for ResMed. From ResMed web site... "Is ResMed made in China?
All finished products sold outside of China are built or created outside of China. However, there are Chinese-made components that are used on ResMed products." https://sprylyfe.com/pages/resmed-produ ... ny-profile
I could not find a list of parts made in China> Does anyone else have this info?
Thanks.

Resmed machines are made in Singapore and Austrailia...Not China
