Bleep Eclipse Noise and Leaking

Post by GrettyKaye » Sat Mar 25, 2023 6:16 pm

I have been happily using the original Bleep Dreamport system for a couple years. I love it, although connecting the interface to the dreamports is sometimes a little challenging. It’s hard to get my fingers in there to get the connection at the right angle and the ridges on the dreamports kind of dig into my fingers as I’m trying to get it connected. Not a big deal, and I am really generally thrilled with the product.

I pre-ordered the eclipse and halos last summer.m and received them sometime in early January. I love how easy is it to connect the interface to the halos. I do trim the adhesive before attaching the second halo so it doesn’t overlap the metal ring. I feel like it connects tightly and properly, easily clicks into place. However, I’ve had problems with noise when inhaling to the point of not being able to fall asleep. I thought the noise had to do with the vent diffuser not fitting as snuggly on the eclipse interface as it did with the original interface. I emailed Stuart about it and he suggested sticking an extra filer in there. I really tried to make that work, and even used some breathable medical tape on the outer edges to hold the extra filter in place. I was switching back and forth between the eclipse and the original but can only sleep through the night with the original. The last two times I tried the eclipse, it was leaking terribly, blowing cold air in my face and I couldn’t figure out the source of the problem. I’ve stopped trying.

I’d like to find a way to make it work. I read some other threads where people were talking about issues with the seal between the adhesive and the metal ring, and I don’t really know if that is causing my problem. Someone suggested putting clear tape over the halos and cutting a hole in the middle. I also saw or somebody was talking about some solution using a rolling pin. I’m sorry, but that’s just too much effort to make this work.

That said, I would like these to work for me. I mean I paid for this and I have several months worth of halos. Mostly I am worried that they will stop production on the original version and then I’ll be stuck. Does anyone have any ideas how I can fix these problems? Between the noise in the leaking, I just can’t deal with it.

I stopped used the Eclipse because of problems similar to your own and went back to the N30i. I trialed the Eclipse this past summer and fell in love with it and experienced no problem whatsoever. When I received my order at the end of December is when problems started occurring where the Eclipse would pull away from the Halos. After a few restless night I stopped and went back to my tried and true friend…the N30i. I’m sitting on boxes of the product as well.

I believe something happened in the production process from the time I used the trial and December. Not sure what went wonky…possibly supply chain issues. That being said, Stuart (Mr. Bleep) is a very open and honest guy. I believe he will ultimately make things right.

I love the original Bleep but had to veto the Eclipse. The noise problem was the main issue for me, followed by the need to trim the halo units and the sensation of having my nose wrenched around more than it is with the original Bleep.

Not a constructive response to your question, I know! In a much longer thread about the Eclipse, I can see that noise is a problem for some of us and not for others. I wish I knew what accounts for those differences.

Like you, I'm worried we'll eventually lose the original Bleep, but I have my fingers crossed they'll keep making them.

I tried the Eclipse for 3 nights the noise was too much. I tried putting another filter between the white and black material but that really hasn't helped much. I really don't understand why this thing is so noisy when inhaling. I think they need to redesign it. My P10 nasal pillows didn't make this much noise.

Sadly, it is true that no mask is compatible with every single face.
But Bleep does come closer than many others.

I have had the same problem. I was getting A continuous rush of air from the mask area where the posts with the magnets on them meet the main body of the mask. I filled this area with a thin layer of clear Gorilla glue. I was still able to connect the mask to the halos. This solved the problem. The posts may not have as much latitude as before, but still enough to connect without leaking.
I hope that this was helpfull.o

This arrives late. I’m not quite sure how people answer these questions in a timely manner unless one is on here all the time.
That issue aside, I had the problems with noise after I took the filter system (?) apart to wash and later, when I used it both air and noise were present. I went into bathroom and made a better effort to press all pieces together, which solved both problems.
Another issue I noticed, further down in replies to this was someone unsatisfied with the pulling of hose to nose attachment.
To that person I suggest buying a couple of wider, terry cloth sweatbands. Place one on forehead as padding against the hose, then slip the hose under the 2nd band, leaving enough slack so you aren’t now pulling the nose piece up too tightly ( which is no better than the original problem). It will stay in place but still move with you. The first headband just prevents the hose from leaving an impression on your forehead.
From another contributor I read that you can fit the magnetic nasal pieces into a p-10 mask. Evidently the spread is more comfortable on wider set apart nostrils ( relieving pinch). The pieces are inserted from underneath ( not pushed through top) then the rigid straps cut off and you have the same workings as bleep eclipse.
