Switching from Remstar to S8

Post by Mike12656 » Mon Jun 05, 2023 5:40 am

I came across a newer cpap machine a ResMed S8 and I like to switch it over from my very old RemStar Series M with CFlex
What kind of data will be on the RemStar that I will need? (inhale and exhale pressure and ramp time etc?)
How do I access that info/data from the RemStar?
And how do I put the info/data in the ResMed S8?
I’ve been spending time looking up on the internet how to get the data off of the RemStar and then put the data on the S8
But to honest I am really confused on what look for on my old machine to put on newer machine
Any suggestions on how to do it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

How about starting with giving us info about the settings (not data) on your Remstar? Which model is it?

Are you sure you have both inhale and exhale pressure on your Remstar?

And the info about which model S8 you have?

Do you realize how very old the S8 is?

This website has links to the manuals for both machine that explain how to get to the clinical setup menu area to figure out settings.

The S8 was discontinued when the S9 was released in 2010.

As soon as figure out how to get the settings off the RemStar I will post them
I will look at the owners manuals you have posted and go from there
I realize the S8 is older but its newer that the REMstar (plus the REMstar is not working correctly)
I am trying avoid spending any money right now

Actually, they're both from around the same era.

Philips replaced the Model M (Don't call it 'remstar' because they slapped that on *everything* they made for well over a decade, maybe two, so it's meaningless), in 2009, and Resmed replaced the S8 with the S9 in 2010.

When I started cpap in 2010, the DME tried to stick me with an s8 Escape.
The best I could get out of them was an s9 Elite. (This forum educated me.)
Once I had my hot little claws on an Autoset, there was no going back.
