What an upside down P10 report looks like

Post by Pugsy » Mon Jun 05, 2023 6:35 am

So the other night I had a rather sudden attack of my BPPV vertigo thing and I was too sick to want to mess with the Eclipse.
I stumbled to bed and used my P10 mask which I keep on my night stand just in case I have a middle of the night failure with the Eclipse. It was dark and I was fiddling with the P10 and inadvertently put it on backwards which ends up with the nasal pillows being upside down on my nostrils. Felt a bit weird but it's been a while since I used the P10 and I was so sick I just didn't care. I realized my error the next morning.

Last night I got around to downloading the machine data. Below is what an upside down P10 report looks like. Leaky (which I slept through but remember I was sick) for sure but not as bad as one might think.

I rarely have "pretty" leak lines with the P10 because it tends to move as I move and I get mask movement leaks fairly frequently but they don't wake me up and don't go deep into large leak territory for very long (if at all) so I just don't care. I don't assume that any big leaks are me opening my mouth because I have, at times in the past, also done the taping thing to make sure the mouth isn't the culprit.

So below is that night's report. Not pretty but I slept and woke up with the vertigo gone which was a plus..
Leak wasn't as horrible as one might expect with a very improper fitting of the P10.  I slept which is always my number one goal with my fragile sleep.

BTW...I zoomed in on all those flagged events and none were real asleep events. All the flagged events (OA and Central/CA) were preceded by obvious arousal breathing. I don't remember being awake but I sure was.

Oh...I am unsure what went on with the little gaps in flow rate at around 00:40 ish.
Leaks weren't that bad at that time. I have had worse leaks and it not happen. I have one other night with that multiple session thing and I am still scratching my head over that one.

Did the cat step on the on off button??? Wouldn't be impossible.

One thing really stands out:
With the upside down pillows, your machine couldn't help you when your breath flow diminished.
I'm curious:
What did the shape of your breaths look like, and was the flow limitations report compared to more usual nights?

Here's the report with the FL graph. The FLs here are more increased than I normally see. I have never had a very active FL graph.

And here is the next night with my more normal (for me) looking FL graph up until the bigger leak thing around 4 AM. Obviously a little more active during the bigger leak. Just noticed AHI 0.0...that's a rarity for me. I almost always have some SWJ flagged events messing with a "perfect" score. Also seem to have experienced another "multiple session" thing at around 01:45 which I can't explain. This is something new to me.
But then a couple of weeks ago some dumb ass pulled her machine off the table and it landed on the floor....did it mess up something??? Dunno. The machine does have over 10 K hours on it....and it's not happening every night.

Poor, sick Pugsy! I hope you get better soon.
I had to swap out my headgear this weekend, and could only find the old style--sans buckle.
Had to use the old way to find the bottom of my pillows--with my thumb, as I grasp the frame.
It fits perfectly in the bottom, but not at all in the top.
I hope this helps.
I need to dig out some of the adjustment clips--so lumpy, I was hoping I wouldn't need it.

I *hate* the original (sans buckle) P10 headgear.

A couple of weeks ago, my current P10 headgear was so stretchedout, it couldn't be used anymore.

I had an original P10 strap that was still in use. So I cut of the end of it at the end of the split, cut off the stretched out part on the newer style strap I was retiring and threaded.

Worked great, just doesn't have the rubber end on the tip.
