Waking up 3 hours into sleep therapy

I have been using cpap sleep therapy for over 20 years. Starting off with Respironics cpap machine and moved to Dream Station from Phillips in 2019, which was recalled and replaced with a reconditioned unit in 2022. The auto settings were at 5 - 20; I self adjusted the minimum pressure to 6.5 as it seemed to have many disrupted sleep instances at the lowest pressure setting. I use a full face mask, with data showing 100% fit for most nights.

Recently, I have been experiencing nightly wake ups after 3 hours of therapy. I’m accustomed to 1-2 wake ups each night I go to sleep. When I reconnect to the hose, leaving the mask on all the time while visiting the rest room, the cpap machine pressure seems excessively high, even though the monitoring display only shows 6.5, and the machine seems noisy. After another hour or so of contending with no sleep, I get up out of bed after 4 - 5 hours.

Is there something wrong with my machine or is there something going on physiologically?

Welcome! Three wake-ups a night is not unusual, but it sounds as though something might be going on with your machine. I would suggest you rename the thread to highlight that issue for the knowledgeable members. Maybe something like: Reconditioned Dream Station acting up.
