the reason no one has mentioned this is that it doesn't need to be done.
i've been using the p10 for over four years. the only time i needed to clean it was when i got the black buildup on. and that took a very long time to collect.
the reason no one has mentioned this is that it doesn't need to be done.

My point exactly.joeljjk11 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 3:06 pmIf I don’t clean the vents then I feel like I am suffocating. Could be different factors I would assume, like what humidity you have, if there is dust in the bedroom or if you have pets, etc. All I know is I have to clean the vents every day or I run into problems. Just because you don’t have this issue does not mean that other people also will not.

not saying it's impossible. but we've both been members of this forum for over five years. yours is the only time i've heard someone say they need to clean the vents of a p10 every day with a toothbrush.joeljjk11 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 3:06 pmIf I don’t clean the vents then I feel like I am suffocating. I find it helpful to hear all these experiences with the P10, because I myself sometimes feel slightly suffocated by it. There's a pretty noticeable difference between the P10 and the Swift FX in terms of ease of exhale for me (and the difference in venting is apparent as well from placing my hands near the vents), so I appreciate hearing how other users deal with it. In the meantime I'll slowly adjust my PS up and try to dial it in. Also, do the other Aircurve 10 Vauto settings like TiControl also merit some experimentation? I've left them on default, but would be interested to hear if changes in these can improve therapy.Pugsy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 3:58 pmMy point exactly.
Just because YOU have this issue doesn't mean that others will have this issue that YOU have.
And FWIW....I use almost max humidity, have pets, and live in a very old and dusty farmhouse.
We had this same discussion quite some time ago and the majority of P10 users did NOT have an issue with the vent holes getting clogged.
Now I am NOT saying that you don't have the issue...I am just saying there are many others that have never had this issue and given my well known not so rigid cleaning schedule...if I haven't ever had it then what can I say. It's not that common at all.
Now I did once go 6 months between any cleaning and I did get the black around a few of the holes but it didn't affect air movement.
It wasn't so much clogged as it was just discolored because it was a stain. It wasn't mold or debri or anything like that. It was a stain from something. Nothing I did would remove the discoloring....even a soak in plain undiluted bleach.
It looked yucky but it functioned just fine. Now I did retire it just from the yuck factor but it functioned normally.
Everything and I mean everything comes with a huge YMMV sticker when it comes to cpap use or equipment or results.

I did actually! I found that this amazon knock-off frame for the p10 has much larger vents, no issues at all. It might be a little louder (doesn't bother me at all), but otherwise I prefer it unequivocally over the standard p10. It's cheaper than the real thing to boot. This made a huge improvement in my sleep therapy. My only concern at the back of my head is if the manufacterer goes out of business somehow. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09JVSS6RG?ps ... ct_detailsAndréa wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 5:23 pmReverseBall wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 9:20 pmI find it helpful to hear all these experiences with the P10, because I myself sometimes feel slightly suffocated by it. Old thread but I'll post anyway
I've had rebreathing issues with my n30i Quiet air. I felt fine first three months and then over o couple of nights I slowly got totally exhausted in the mornings. Severe headaches and felt like is was poisoned. I just laid in bed lika a zombie, felt lika I was dying. The feeling passed slowly towards the afternoon. I then looked up about rebreathing and found out about how some people experienced P10, so I got up in the middle of the night, changed mask and the following morning I was my old self again. Heard more people complaining about it in some FB-forums. Maybe we're not that many but we very much do exist, and get sick when wearing for ex. P10 or N30i QA. I got sick when the filter slowly clogged, now question about it.
Hope you found a solution!

i learned from chunkyfrog to use a waterpik on the mesh on the p10 cradle. works great but you want to do the cleaning in the shower as it sprays all over!
