I’ve started using an APAP for the first time a few weeks ago, and the P10 mask is very comfortable. However, I find that I’ve been taking it off in my sleep most nights. The only solution I’ve found is to tape it to my face with medical tape over the mask bands. This works but is pretty uncomfortable. Is it normal to take a mask off in your sleep while starting out? Or will I need to do this forever?
I also tried the dreamwear mask to see if I’d keep it on, but I find it intolerable in either the pillow or cushion, because the air seems hotter and slower to come out (can’t really explain it, but with the P10 it just feels much easier to breath with the air shooting straight up the nose).
I take off P10 mask in my sleep, have to use medical tape?

And yet, sometimes, we take off the masks because something in the pressure settings is not optimal.

nope, it's going to be like that forever.
just joking. getting used to the mask may be the hardest part of the journey. that's because your brain is screaming that you have an alien on your face that wants to suck the life out of you! get it off! get it off!!
pretty much everyone gives in to the temptation to remove it. and, actually, the taping is a very good coping mechanism. what you are trying to do is convince your screaming brain that it's all right and you won't die.
but it can take some time. you might want to wear the mask when NOT in bed. it will give your brain more time to get used to it and to stop freaking out about it.
good luck!
you can do this!
