Got an email from PR for settings and not sure what to do. Also rants.

I finally got an email from everyone’s favorite scumbags (Philips Respironics) today stating that they needed my settings or approval to ship an APAP to me. I wanted to call them to make sure they send a DS1. I’d just purchased my DS1 maybe 3 months before the recall, and got a great price that included an extra tank and hose as well as filters. I’ll be damned if waste more money on their products.

Of course the 877-907-7508 is only open 8-5ET M-F and the 888-511-2797 number doesn’t work.

So, do I waste time calling them?
Can they even do anything? I’m sure the really nice folks at the 877 number have no useful access to anything. When I called 3 months after I registered, they said that they could see me but had no idea when I could expect a machine and no information on what the logic was for filling orders. They said that PR gave them no info.

Or do I bite the bullet and let them ship whatever they’ll ship?

They’ve sent emails stating that tests haven’t shown appreciable harm from exposure to particulates. Since my machine was 3 months old, I’d hope there weren’t particulates. No clue about the off gassing.

My doc is a putz so I can’t ask him. No sense paying for an office visit to get questioned again on if I was actually diagnosed w/sleep apnea. We’d never get to my actual concerns, and if we did, I’m sure he wouldn’t have an answer.

So, what do folks think? I’m so pissed off at this point that I just want to be done. But I also don’t want to deal with having to fix the current machine and sell the DS2 if that’s what they send.

Have you checked the recall patient Portal. They added a option to receive a Auto Cpap with default settings instead of providing prescription settings recently. I would call and ask them to update your record to show you want a DS1 replacement and not a DS2
I have called the Toll free number a few times and each time it felt like i was talking to a foreign support service company. They ask the same questions over and over again and can provide little real information.

I saw the option to get an auto. I didn’t know they could update the record. I’ll give them a call, thanks!
