Zero sleep 60 hours

Post by Jay El » Tue Jan 24, 2023 3:36 am

For the last 60 hours I have been awake. Every time I start to fall asleep, I wake up gasping for air… it happened about a week ago, and I eventually went to the ER to make sure heart and lungs checked out ok( they were fine) Afyer returning from ER, it got way better for about a week, then started again(60 hours ago). Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanx in advance!

Zero info makes it hard to comment - which model of what machine do you use? Same Q re mask. Pressure settings for min. and max... if in Apap mode. Any meds? What was your diag. when tested? Can you download Oscar (see Stickies top of page) and we can take a look, help interpret and if needed suggest changes.

Do you not think that a visit to your primary care physician is in order?

If it were me, speaking to my doctor would be the first thing that I would do after having to go to the ER instead of troubleshooting my health online. That's just me though...

The OP didn't say anything about using a machine. I'm assuming he/she doesn't have a PAP of any kind based on what was said.

This IS a Cpap forum so I assumed Cpap was involved, but as I said zero info was given, so asked for some to go on.

What would you do PR if you had no one to pick on one day?

start to fall asleep, I wake up gasping
That's a classic OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) symptom, but (1) sudden onset (if that's what happened) would make it an acute medical emergency and (2) an involuntary 60 hours without sleep is also easily in the category of an immediate safety danger.

Call your doc.
The people who confuse "entomology" and "etymology" really bug me beyond words.

You've been around here long enough to know how illogical some people can be, right?
