I am dealing only with Philips not a DME. The statement about no replacement for off warranty, older than 5 year old machines was said to me by a Philips rep. and appears in text at the Philips recall site yet the choice to get return payment or a replacement was made at the end of the online filing process. No email has been sent to me concerning the status of my claim. Philips has gone silent even though my machine is recognized and registered as one for recall.
Hi please post a link to the Philips web page where you saw this. There is some confusion here. Many of us, including myself, have machines more than five years old and while we were given an option of a cash payment, have been told we are eligible for replacement units. Again, you should be able to upload the serial number of your machine to the Philips patient portal to check on the status of your claim.
Here's a copied quote from an email I got once I registered my System One with Philips. The same statement was in the text of the Patient Portal for Philips. It says "may not," and I hear nothing else from them.

"Please note the affected device you have registered is now past both its warranty period and useful life, which is typically five years, and may not be replaced. You may be eligible for a financial payment for the action of returning your affected device."

"May" is a funny word in this context. Note they did not say it "won't be replaced."
Safety recalls have nothing to do with warranty lengths. Manufacturers making unsafe products need to make it right. It is true your System One won't be replaced with a System One, since they no longer produce them.

There should be two buttons in your patient portal, one for the cash and one for replacement. If the choices are not present, I would try a different browser.

The replacement for my 2011 System One has not yet been shipped, but I haven't been told that it won't be.

Patient portal has been updated this week. Prescription details needed is one option with a New Option for receiving a Auto Cpap replacement with default values and no prescription required.

Thank you for that update as the option wasn't there 6 days ago. Even though, per a recent call to the Philips Recall 1-877 number, they had my prescription the site still stated that it was needed and offered me the APAP option. Selected that option to both hopefully speed up the process since my Dr. has moved me from CPAP to APAP (and back to CPAP since the recall until finally receiving replacement machines. It will be interesting to see if Philips sends me a DS1 or DS2. Also they did not set the DS1 replacement just received to the correct prescription so I'll need to go into the provider menu and set the machine up correctly anyway.

Quick update on the new replacement DS1s received directly from Philips 2 weeks ago. Just finished using the first machine over the past two weeks and all works well with the APAP algorithms working as expected. Set up the second DS1machine today and it also appears to work well per an initial quick test. Will further confirm over the next couple weeks of use. Like the first machine it did not have the correct settings and had to be reset according to what I currently use.

Like the first machine the second had a slight "new care like" smell when first turned on that quickly dissipated and never returned.
