I currently have a ResMed Airsense 10 with a modem. I am in the market for a new(er) machine and my insurance will pay for a Airsense 11 (with a modem) of a new Airsense 10 (without a modem).
My problem with the Airsense 11 is that the water reservoir is t small. The water has run out by morning then I am awaken by the smell of burning plastic. The Airsense 10 does not do tis.
Do I need a modem? If I get the 10 (without a modem) I need to use a SD card. When would I need this card? How do I report my findings to my insurance and/or doctor with the card? How ofter do I report my findings?
Are there any other machines that have modems?
Thank you for any help

Re: CPAP with modem or not
The AirSense 10 and 11 have the same size humidifier tank, 380ml. But the 10's design allows it to be overfilled slightly, though I doubt enough to run out every night.
Do you even have an 11 yet? Some parts of your post suggest you already have one, but other parts suggest you don't.
Assuming you have used an 11. The more likely reason you're running out of water every night, is a difference in the humidification settings. Have you compared the settings between your 10 and 11? What are the 11's settings? Have you tried turning it down a notch or two?

Three popular roles of the cell modem:
- Insurance compliance, easy for insurance company to determine compliance. Without a modem, an SD Card can be used but less convenient.
- Provide medical with therapy information. Once again, an SD Card can be used.
- Access to ResMed's MyAir therapy summary site/app. This does not provide nearly the information that OSCAR and an SD card provides, but some like it.

I've used both an Autoset 10 and an Autoset 11 with the humidity set at Auto on both. I haven't noticed much difference in water use.

Insurance companies (and Medicaid) pay based on HCPCS code. The code for any model of the AirSense 11 or 10 series of machines is the same. It is E0601. Your insurance will pay for any model.
The reason you cannot get an AirSense 10 with a modem is due to a market shortage.
