Water chamber running dry

Post by Kevin_CPAP » Wed Dec 07, 2022 1:53 pm

I have had a ResMed AirSense 10 (AS10) for 5 years and now I have AirSense 11 (AS11). Both had/have no oxygen, but they do have the water chamber for humidity. I am utilizing a full-face mask.

I have had the same problem with both the AS10 & AS11, due to what I feel is a design flaw with the water chamber. I had my AS10 humidity setting maxed out at 8 and it worked well for me, except for the fact that it would only last 4 hours. In the middle of the night, I would always have to refill it because it was totally dry. My new AS11 I tried on level 4 which is ok, but not optimal and it is dry after 6 hours.

To be fair I live in Colorado where it is very dry.
Also, I have a goatee and use RemZzzs CPAP Mask liners, because the full-face mask produced irritations on my face, which probably does not allow for a good seal.

The humidity issue is crucial where I live and can cause nose bleeds in your CPAP mask at night without enough humidity.

All I am wondering is...
Do the water chambers come in different sizes?
If not, is this something that is being developed, thought about, discussed?
If not, is there any solution to my problem?

I also have the AS10 and the AS11. The water chamber only comes in one size.
I found this, called the Cspring One, on www.Cspring.com and have been using for a few weeks now.
I'm pretty happy with it. The only drawback is that it is lit up when plugged in. A little bit bright at night in the bedroom.

Run a small room humidifier in the bedroom..It makes a big difference. In Fall and Winter it's a common problem. They are as little as $30 on Amazon .
