Leaks
Leaks
So for about the past month I have been having large air leaks around my full face mask. I had the incoming pressure set at 12, and outgoing at 6. I lowered the incoming pressure down to 8. Leaks still persists. I installed a new mask thinking that the seal may have been worn. No such luck. Still having large air leaks. This morning I put on a new hose. Same thing. I went into setting and checked the incoming air pressure. It is now at 8.5. What could be going on? It seems as if the air pressure is increasing because the leaks are around the masks but again checking the pressure settings all is well. Could my body heat cause the plastic to soften there buy causing the leak? Initially when donning the mask all is well. However after about 4 hours the leaks start. Any suggestions? Thank you Ken
Re: Leaks
What kind of mask? CPAP? Can you post OSCAR charts? In most cases it’s an issue with the cushion or frame needing replacement, but sometimes it is just a bad spell that happens to many of us.
FWIW I am going through the same struggle, with almost identical pressures. I’ve replaced mask frame, pillows, hose, water tank, and no difference. Even tried sleeping in a different bed, different pillows, etc. No luck so far.
Is it something to worry about? If it is impacting therapy or waking you up it does need to be dealt with, but having OSCAR charts will allow those who can divine knowledge from the information to offer advice vs guessing.

Re: Leaks
Post Oscar charts? Sorry no. I do not have the skills for this task. I am using a full face mask with a BIPAP machine.
As a matter of fact Oscar tells me virtually nothing that I am not already aware of. I have been watching MYAIR.
This tells me little but this is something that I am able to comprehend. Thank you for your reply, Ken

Re: Leaks
I have a full face mask and my cushions last 6-8 months without problems. They seem to seal better when the cushion is soft. My pressure averages 13.8 and I have virtually zero leaks.
Note. You say that you are using a Full Face Mask, but you are showing the N20 nasal mask in your profile.

If you've lost weight that could have affected the fit of course.

Re: Leaks
Hello, As to my question regarding "Leaks" I think that I have found the solution. Throwing the mask across the room did not alleviate the problem however,,, it has helped. The Velcro straps became unhinged upon impact with the ceiling fan "in motion I might add". So after a cooldown I reassembled and reset the straps in an uneven position. And WOW. No more leaks. My score for last night was 97%. Anyway having a "tantrum" has payed benefits.
And "Julie" in the past month I have lost 13 pounds. I had surgery for a health issue (Cancer) and am now doing great. Ken

I am thrilled that a temper tantrum has finally paid off.
With luck, your therapy will continue to improve.

Re: Leaks
Bleep Dreamports/Halos and a Knightsbridge Cap have been amazing at reducing leaks for me. If I wear any other mask its leaks all night.
