New user ? on AirFit F30i Pillow

Post by Chljke2 » Mon Dec 05, 2022 9:54 am

I am a week in and am noticing a rash around my nose from the latex pillow I am using.
I was looking into covers online for the pillow but not sure if they are worth purchasing as it needs to be secure on my face. Is this common when a CPAP is first used, will my skin get used to this mask or is it worth purchasing a cover for the pillow?

Yes, it is fairly normal. Pick up some Lanisoh or other lanolin cream to help with the soreness.

Also, if you have not watched this video from LankyLefty on proper fitting of the P30i, give it a quick view for ideas.

Its actually not latex, its silicone.

The lansinoh suggestion is a good one. You can find it sold as "nipple cream" in the breastfeeding section of the grocery store or walmart, or online. It is 100% lanolin and may help with the irritation. A teeny tiny little bit goes a very long way. It helps create a tacky feel. Too much and you won't get a good seal. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Lansinoh-Lan ... lsrc=aw.ds

You should also give the gear a good soaking to remove any residual left from manufacturing process.
