Does Dreamstation Auto have auto OFF feature?

Post by Aces79 » Wed Apr 08, 2020 8:57 pm

I’ve been on CPap therapy for almost 20 years now. I just got a new Dreamstation Auto. I love how quite it is. My old ResMed machine started making a high pitched whistle noise where the air filters go a few weeks ago. DME company said it was too old to even worry with fixing and got me the Dreamstation instead.

My old ResMed would turn on when I breathed in and then turn off about 60 seconds after taking the mask off.

I tried my Dreamstation and it does turn on automatically when I breathe in but it doesn’t turn off when I remove the mask. I don’t see a feature or menu setting to make it turn off automatically.

Does it even have an auto off feature? If so, where do I find it?

Thanks!

Yes, it has an Auto Off feature.
It's in the clinical menu setup area and it is called Auto Off....you have to change it from the default of OFF to ON for it to turn itself off after about 60 seconds.
Do you know how to get into the clinical menu area?
If not....go here and request the clinical manual and it is all explained in there.

Weird naming....you have to turn on Auto Off to have it shut itself off.

Thank you! No I don’t know how to get into the clinical menu. I will check it out!

Actually, this machine does not have an auto off feature or option in the clinical menu. It's an option that evidently some sort of clinician has at their desgression to change or not. Plug machine into a power strip with a switch. Easy easy.

The original post dates by the OP were back in 2020 which would lead me to believe the machine is/was a Dream Station 1 and would have the auto on and off selection in the clinician menu. The newest Dream Station 2 model does not have the auto on and off selection available to the user and would have to be changed remotely by the DME or care provider I believe through Care Orchestrator software.
