ResMed AirSense 10 No cell connection

Post by JeffL » Thu Nov 24, 2022 11:49 am

First let me say that the new AirSense 11 that I got yesterday is working fine. It has a cell connection and it uploaded data that appears on MyAir.

Now, what maybe considered looking up up a dead horse's butt:

I haven't looked at MyAir since I don't remember when. I forgot about it until I got my new machine. When I did check it yesterday, I saw that there hasn't been any data recorded since 4/28/22. I got more curious about it this morning, and plugged it in. When the screen came up, it showed a line through a circle where the signal strength bars should be. My new 11 shows bars, so I know I have good enough signal strength. Besides, it worked fine in the same location until 4/28. I wonder if there is a setting to make it work again that would possibly send the missing data.

At worse, all is not lost. The data was written to the SD card and I was able to download it to ResScan.

Did you associate the new machine with MyAir? You need to go into MyAir, select “profile”, then “My Equipment”, then “update machine”. You will then enter the machine serial number and it will be associated with your account.

Your Air10 likely had an older 3g cell radio, last april the 3g cell towers were decommissioned. Your Air11 uses 4g.

My best guess for a reason the old machine stopped transmitting data the last of April is that it has a 3 G cellular modem thingy in it and that's about when 3 G cellular was simply discontinued and put out to pasture.

All the older machines that had 3 G cellular simply quit transmitting data.

The 3G issue makes a lot of sense since I had to replace our cell phone. I'm going with that :mrgreen: Thanks!

Just in case there is a slim possibility that you aren't familiar with horse expressions :lol:

do a worthless task, do a pointless exercise, pissing into the wind".

If I were to continue to pursue it, you could say I was beating a dead horse :lol:

waste energy on a lost cause or a situation that cannot be changed.

.
I understand that some AirSense 10's use 3G, and some 4G. -- Is there a way to tell if one's AirSense 10 uses 3G or 4G?

In the Options screen scroll all the way down to About. Click that, then scroll all the way down to Internal Modem. You'll find it there.
* Download Oscar
* Oscar help
* An alternative to Oscar - try SleepHQ

I have no medical training or qualifications. Take my advice for what it's worth.

On the back of the machine will be an IC number and an FCC ID. If it ends with:
  • CDMA - it's a real old device with pre-LTE cell
  • 3G - it's 3G
  • 4G - it's 4G

Thanks, Respirator! I went into the Clinical Menu and followed your instructions to happily learn that I have 4G in my AirSense 10 !
