Does hose size affect noise?

Post by bobdrad » Wed Nov 23, 2022 9:39 pm

I recently got a Dreamstation 2 with a very small diameter hose. It's noisier than my previous ResMed 10 with a larger hose size.

Will replacing my hose with a larger diameter reduce the noise?

Having tried both 15 and 22 mm tubes, I can’t really say that I noticed a significant difference in noise, but then I asleep most of the time.
Nevertheless, don’t forget to change the tube diameter in the machine settings when switching back and forth. The hose diameter is used by the machines algorithm in calculating values.

When chasing down unwanted noise, always check every connection--twice.
Sometimes more.
It's too often something simple, even stupid.
