My pressure is 17. I use nasal pillow being unable to use face mask. My leakage is 52 L/min always high but supplier in Florida had no solution. With CPAP and Air Sense 10 I can often get 8 hours sleep but tank runs dry in 5-6 hours. Bad smell when tank runs dry is any biological growth in tank. Use distilled water and careful clean of tank with strong detergent will control smell. This problem seems to be one with many. Need knowledgeable local supplier in Valdosta Georgia. I am 90 years old and limited in research travel. Best solution is to refill tank when I get up after 4 hours sleep. CPAP has much improved my night breathing (obstructive apnea). Wish I had leakage solution with nasal pillows which seems to be part of problem of tank running dry??

Is it mask movement or mouth opening that is responsible for the leaks? Do you know???
Do you wake often with dry mouth?

And yes, when the tank goes dry it does stink to high heaven....that old hot burnt plastic smell. I have experienced it when I have forgotten to top off the water chamber and it goes dry during the night.

Presuming that a lower constant humidity would be more comfortable than having the tank run dry and getting no humidification once that happens, i would suggest turning the humidity setting down until you reach the point that it never runs completely dry. Leaks use more air and therefore more water, so want to do the best to minimize them as well.

It should be able to make up an external tank that can make more water available, but it would be tricky.

Sorry, disregard. I did not realize it was an old thread and i was not seeingbthe latest question.
