Recommended Supplier Needed
Recommended Supplier Needed
I am having a terrible time finding a supplier. And all I can find are complaints. What I cannot seem to find is anyone recommending a good supplier. Yelp and other reviews of all the companies I can find are all 1 and 2 stars. I don't even care about my insurance list, I'm willing to go out of network if I can find a company that works. My standards are lowering quickly. I don't even care about customer service. All I want now is someone that will just send the correct supplies.
So I am looking to the power of the group! What say you? Does anyone out there use a company that you would recommend?

Re: Recommended Supplier Needed
If you don't care about insurance use cpap.com. Personally, I use a local DME. I call in the morning and pick up my order later in the day.

Re: Recommended Supplier Needed
Ask your insurance company what they will pay if you order from an internet supplier and submit claims/receipts to them.
Have you looked at local or regional suppliers? (I'm fortunate to have a very good three-county supplier.)
Re: Recommended Supplier Needed
Our hosts at cpap.com are great if you are willing to pay out of pocket. Another option is a fellow member, LSAT, who can get used machines in good condition--you can PM him.
I buy my supplies either from CPAP.com or from Amazon. Prices are often lower than DME's and no hassle. But I do not have any insurance coverage for my CPAP or supplies. I actually prefer it that way, because with my HMO the only supplier was Crapria (Capria) and they were terrible.
However, some people luck out with a local supplier, so it's worth asking around.

I second cpap.com
I use insurance and like Verus - its mail order I have no visitors and no BS.
They give me what I want when I want it.
https://verushealthcare.com/contact/
But you are right most DME's are terrible because they are only in it for the money.
Many times the people tasked to help you don't use cpap so don't have any clue.
Ask them when you talk.

Re: Recommended Supplier Needed
I keep a regular lookout on eBay to see if they have my nasal cushions available for less than Amazon or cpap.com I only buy them new in package. If you know what you want, you can sometimes find them at greatly reduced rates.
I also bought some inexpensive items from Facebook marketplace for a much lower price.
It’s important that you know what things actually cost though, so you know if you’re saving any money. Otherwise I would go with the sponsor of this forum.

Re: Recommended Supplier Needed
I have been using Verus for many years since I have no local suppliers. They do all the necessary contacts for insurance and prescriptions. Reminders are sent to me for orders. I don't think they offer monitoring nor advice, just sales. Easy by phone or online.
Re: Recommended Supplier Needed
I just placed my first order with Verus - my health insurance changed. With them sending out reminders do they automatically send the supplies or do you have the ability to say “no thanks”? I ask because I do not know how much I will be paying out of pocket. If I can find somewhere cheaper I will take my business elsewhere. Thanks!ejbpesca wrote: ↑Fri Sep 30, 2022 9:57 amI have been using Verus for many years since I have no local suppliers. They do all the necessary contacts for insurance and prescriptions. Verus sends an email to suggest you make an order for your supplies. They do not send them automatically.
They have been good about filing my insurance. I have zero copays. The only time I have to pay them is if an order is completed while I still owe my yearly deductible.

Re: Recommended Supplier Needed
@Gparr - The DME is telling you what you are "entitled to" under the terms of your insurance. If you don't need a given item, you are under no obligation to buy it. For example, humidifier water tanks almost always last much longer than insurance will provide. May I recommend a strategy of having ONE backup of water tub and air hose, so you can change over immediately if needed. For example, if the cat chews a hole in your air hose, you will have an extra to use immediately. Mask cushions/pillows and machine filters can be ordered several at a time and which are replaced more frequently. One the other hand, no purpose in stockpiling things like water tubs and hoses.

I have heard good things about online DME Hart Medical, although I have no need to use them.

Re: Recommended Supplier Needed
My husband receives supplies from Verus by mail with no problem. I was assigned to a local DME but they would not provide the item I wanted, even after calling them to ask them to order it. I switched to AeroFlow when I discovered that they would get me the mask I wanted (bleep system). They have been great. Verus is likely great to work with also, but we have never spoken with them because we didn't need to. I think you would be happy with either of them.

Re: Recommended Supplier Needed
My DME is a local mom and pop company, with several offices in the general vicinity.
Not all local outfits are as good as them, but I fired the lesser ones;
and kept the good one.

I'm a bit late to the party, seeing as how you have already ordered, but for out of pocket orders, I have been very pleased with Direct Home Medical https://www.directhomemedical.com/ Free shipping, frequent sales, and, if you sign up for their newsletter, coupon codes. I find their prices are very good.
