Luna g3 bpap removing transfer box

Post by ldt2g10 » Mon Jun 06, 2022 3:07 pm

Has anyone tried removing the transfer box for cleaning? If so, how did it go? I cant seem to just pull it out, and the user manual is very sparse in its information.

The manual says to clean it but I cant figure out how.

as i said in your other thread, i'm not aware of any forum regulars who use your machine, so answers are going to be tough to come by.

good luck!
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

There is a series of videos on setting up and using this machine. Start here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmP3VDwH9bk
* Download Oscar
* Oscar help
* An alternative to Oscar - try SleepHQ

I have no medical training or qualifications. Take my advice for what it's worth.

Can you contact the mfgr and just ask them about the box?

Strong fingernails and a hard pull.

Does it need cleaning? I just looked at the inlet tube on my ResMed machine. It's clean without cleaning and the machine is 2.5 years old.

Transfer box?

The transfer box is a pullout conduit between the humidifier tank and the blower. It seems this unit is shipped with the transfer box wrapped separately. You have to snap the transfer box into place and then the humidifier tank.

In the video in your link, the dude shows how to clean the device but does not mention cleaning of the transfer box.

It definitely shipped with both the transfer box, and water humidifier installed.

I watched the video and he doesnt mention it. But the user manual says it should be done weekly...

I havent heard of this being done on any other cpap device? I may just have to try and pull on it and see if it snaps out the same way it apparently snaps in.

Did you ever try it? Were you successful?

I did not and everything has been fine

There is always the possibility you were told to clean a part
they hoped you would break.

Fantastic. In that case I won't worry about it. I live in a low dust, pet free home so I'm not too worried.

I swear Noone uses this machine. Honestly I really Ike it. But it's also been my only bipap. It's worked for me that's all I know.
