Hey, I offered something positive asking whether tickle went away while laying on the side.
That said, if anyone can show me that I am wrong in what I said I am willing to relearn some new anatomy and physiology. I apologize if it came across harshly but that is kind of one of my weird fears (choking). Thats why I love my cpap so damned much.

Weird. Someone asked about cleaning their soclean. Everyone told the truth-that it was crap and could hurt the individual.
I answered the truth.
I hope the original poster heeds what I said because all of those things definitely CAN HAPPEN. I would think this is obvious and having it before laying down for bed is much safer.
But ok.....

I sleep on my side 99% of the time. I've often slept with a cough drop in my mouth before starting cpap.. I do realize I could aspirate it. Usually I wake up with the remains of it stuck between my teeth and cheek.
I've slept over 9 hours with the nasal mask on the past 2 nights.. no coughing or throat tickle. No cough drop. lol I've been adding just a small amount of water or none at all to the humidifier and I think that has helped.

Glad to hear you are doing better!
I feel like even with a slight stuffy nose the machine will clear it up very quickly. Will be curious to see how things change come winter with dryer air. Probably need more water?

That depends on your humidity and hose setup.
If heated hose and automatic - only more water
If heated hose and manual choice of humidity setting - you may have to add water and set humidity a bit higher
Hose temp may have to be changed too - depending on your (summer) cooling (winter) warming habits.
And if you hose is not a heated hose...

I won’t be changing settings of the hose and humidifier but we have a pellet stove that dries things out even with a pot of water on the stove.
I guess we will find out.
Edit: I have a feeling I will need to put more water into the chamber.
