Hello!
My AHI for the past 3 years is always 1 or lower - nothing to worry about, right! Occasionally, it will spike up to 2, but rarely. For the past 2 months, about every other night, it's spiking to 3, 4, 5, or even 7. An AHI that high is not normal for me. The nights in-between these spikes, my AHI remains at its usual low levels. Here's the weird part - when I go into Oscar to see what's going on, the events are not spread out throughout the night, but rather all of the events (usually CA) occur within a half hour to 45 minutes just before I wake up. The rest of the night is clear.
Is this normal?
Thank you!

Re: Increased AHI late
Might be postural apnea (in addition to the previous apnea). Try a neck brace.

Go to the above link and watch the videos.
Probably arousal related but learn how to zoom in and confirm.

CAs/centrals close to known wake up time are very likely related to being awake or half awake.Powerhands wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 5:46 pmthe events are not spread out throughout the night, but rather all of the events (usually CA) occur within a half hour to 45 minutes just before I wake up.

I'm the same way. Most of my events are just before I wake up. And... like you, my AHI's will spike up, but I have had some serious health issues lately, so I attribute my squirrely numbers to my health issues. I've almost stopped looking at my numbers. I have decided that as long as I feel good (Cpap-wise), I don't worry about the numbers too much.
