portable ozone cleaners

Post by hoserdude » Fri Sep 02, 2022 10:48 am

I know that the ozone cleaners have been determined to be detrimental on the foam and parts for actual cpap machines. But I was curious are the (non Soclean) type small little units advertised that you throw in a bag with your hoses, masks, and nasal cushions also considered bad, dangerous, or just plain ineffective as well? Thanks

Assuming you don't put the CPAP into the bag, they won't negatively impact the actual CPAP itself.

They:
  • Still use Ozone
  • Are not necessary
  • Can negatively react with your hoses, masks and cushions. Causing earlier break-down and discoloring
  • Vent hazardous Ozone into you environment
  • Don't clean
Why do you feel the need to use one?

I was travelling visiting a friend who had one of those little hockey puck ones and hooked their hose and mask up to one (no bag) to clean their gear. I had never even thought of it for that purpose as I knew that they were no good for the cpaps but wondered if they might be handy for travel purposes. Of course, when you go online the companies that make them (and some Youtubers) extoll their virtues... which is why I put it out on "talk" for some straight opinions. Anyway, I see a trend forming lol! Thanks for the input.

All three.

For one thing, they don't CLEAN ANYTHING

Sneeze in your mask? it's still there after using the ozone scam machine, so they do no cleaning at all.

Plus, as a side "benefit", they do degrade your crap, and are very bad for you to breathe the output that escapes from the bag.

You want your lungs "cleaned"?

Well, your friend got scammed, because they don't CLEAN anything at all.
