Changing mask type to Airfit N20 classic

Post by Salaxedos » Wed Aug 17, 2022 2:50 pm

I have been using a CPAP machine for more than 10 years now. I was always using a Mirage FX Nasal mask with a Mirage Activa LT cushion. I decided to change to Airfit N20 mask, but I was so much used to something being against my forehead, that I just couldn't get used to it and kept changing back to the previous mask. So I thought, I will just go for Airfit N20 Classic, which has the headgear routed through my forehead. So I went and bought one.
It is a beautiful, modern and cool mask, but when I first tried it on, I found it to be much much more louder than the Mirage and I don't feel the real power of the airflow - as if the air would exit from the tube through the exhaust before it gets in my nose. I disassembled, and re-assembled, but no change. The detachment of the mask tube, that connects to the tube has some kind of a clip inside that the Mirage does not have. I don't know what it' s good for, but it certainly narrows down the air way.

Also, if I turn to my normal sleeping position (on my side), it easily starts to leak.

So, no pressure even after the automatic pressure is built up, high noise and leakage when my head is sideways.

Has anyone had the same issue? Any proposal, advice?
Thank you.

ahoy!

masks are a very, very personal thing. what works for me may not work for thee.

i would recommend going to cpap.com and looking at masks there. find one you'd be interested in. then read the reviews.

while cpap.com doesn't bill insurance, you have 30 days to try the mask and return if you wish.

good luck!
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.
