Mild OSA

Post by bananas85 » Tue Aug 16, 2022 8:47 am

Hello. Quick story.

2013 diagnosed with mild OSA. Repeat testing 6 month later no OSA. Forgot about it.

Fastforward to 2022. Symptoms of day time sleepiness and fatigue.

Home Test showed Mild OSA again. My sleep doc, said home test can underestimate AHI so recommended CPAP therapy.

For the people that have "mild OSA" will there be improvement in day time symptoms with PAP treatment.

I bought a resmed 10 from lofta. I am 5 feet 8 inches and 170 lbs. I am a side and stomach sleeper. I have post nasal drip and some mild rhinits that i use nasonex sprays for.

Is there a particular mask that is recommended. I do know I am going to try for one where the tubing comes from the top so I can roll around to side and stomach.

C/Apap should improve daytime life for mild symptoms at least as well as for worse symptoms... why not?

Have you tried Flonase vs nasonex - works for a lot of people here.

Mask-wise - you really need to try them as faces are so different, and you can look at huge variety on Cpap.com (forum sponsors) and return/exchange within a certain time (more info on site of course).

There can be significant improvement. But you have to do your part - optimize the CPAP therapy for low AHI, minimal leaks, and comfort; and practice strict sleep hygiene.
