New humidifer leaks on airsense 10

Post by kongjie » Sun Aug 14, 2022 5:40 pm

I got my replacements parts including a new humidifier chamber for my airsense 10.

When I woke up in the morning, there was a puddle on my nightstand (my phone was soaked). Most of the water was drained.

The next day I filled the new chamber with tap water and it was watertight. I theorized that I hadn't fully inserted the chamber. I filled it again and put on the CPAP for a couple minutes, and could see no water coming out. So I went to sleep and again almost everything drained out, in fact ruining my nightstand.

Tonight I am going back to the old chamber to see if it is event-free (putting a towel underneath the machine this time). I have looked pretty closely at the replacement chamber and can't figure out how the water could be coming out of it. Has this happened to anyone?

To test a water chamber for leaks fill the chamber and set it on a paper towel and leave it for 2 or 3 hours then check for dampness of the paper towel.
Sometimes leaks are so small we can’t really see them overtly leaking.

You have a tiny crack or break along the seel thats not present under normal pressure, but opens up with pressure.

Keep using your spare and return the defective one.

What I do after each fillup is to rotate the chamber so the water runs across the seal all the way around the chamber. But as mentioned when the pressure comes on there is more force inside the water chamber. Also, Make sure it is seated properly when inserted.

Check the silicone seal for creases, wrinkles, or gaps.
There should not be any.
