I'm unsure what model is best for me, but the Resmed Airsense 10 autoset seems popular. I use a fixed 11 on my system, so nothing fancy required, but a humidifier is preferred.
ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet is a very versatile product and can easily do your fixed 11 cm pressure and the humidifier is built in so no separate piece of equipment. So it can do both fixed and auto adjusting pressures if you ever need/want to do auto mode.
Here's the combo manual explaining the features
https://www.respshop.com/manuals/ResMed ... %20her.pdf

It is 24 volt but there is a special converter you can buy and use with a 12 volt battery.

Is there a way to plug the ResMed converter into the Medistrom battery he has?

I have no idea. Sorry. I don't do batteries at all. All I know is that with the converter it "can" be done but as to exactly how it is accomplished....that is above my pay grade.

Looking at Medistrom's offering, I think the news is not good. They have 2 offerings that I see, one for 12v models like the Respironics and one for 24v models like Resmed. The Resmed adapter Pugsy mentioned plugs in to a "cigarette lighter socket". There is no such socket on either device.

From a technical point of view, that kind of makes sense. Additionally their design lets you use your machine's adapter to charge them, and has a specific to the machine power output.

Maybe you can sell the one you have? I know they are expensive :(

I don't have one. RDP does. I posted hoping he would see the potential problem.

Thanks all for the comments on my 12V battery situation. Yes, I also saw that while the 12V to 24V tech was available, the lack of an adapter was an issue. As I'm not wanting to even try to use a DIY solution on something like this I think I'll just need to sell this one, or keep it as the world's largest USB power bank....

And now, back to the thread main topic!

Hey,

Just checking in from Canada. I still haven't heard anything from Phillips, nothing at all. I called once and they have my information and gave me my registration number. I registered July 07, 2021 - I got my machine at the end of March 2021, so it was 3 months old when I registered. I have inquired about just purchasing a new machine, however that seems difficult here in Canada as well at the moment.

I understand everyone in every country is waiting, however I've heard very little about Canadians getting their new machine.

Just looking to see if anyone from Canada has had any success?? At least it will keep our spirits high!

Thanks!

Anyone know the current status of the recall? The last email I received was Jan ‘22 and part of the email said,

“In the coming weeks, you will receive an email that outlines the option to provide additional prioritization information. The types of information you may provide include: your age; whether you have any other health conditions including obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and its severity; whether you are pregnant or have an occupation associated with public safety; your history of car accidents related to falling asleep while driving; and whether you have used ozone for device cleaning purposes. ”

I have heard nothing since then and have 2 machines covered by the recall. I emailed them, but never heard back. If anyone knows anything I would appreciate it. Thank you

I have been waiting for a replacement Dreamstation 1 for over a year. I purchased my machine from CPAP.Com. Johnny Goodman President of CPAP.com sent me a email on 9/2/2021 confirming my purchase of the machine and detailing Phillips Respironics statement about the recall. Attempts to follow up on my recall status using my recall registration number have been unsuccessful. Phillips has had plenty of time to resolve this issue with its customers. CPAP.com my DME needs to pressure Phillips on this Issue.
My Dreamstation 1 was registered with Phillips on 06/17/2021 for the recall.

Was your DS1 a Bi-Level machine? If so, it may be that Philips needs to replace it with a Bi-Level DS1 and the only way they may be doing that is from a returned Bi-Level DS1 that is refurbished. If folks do not send back the recalled units, it may slow the process of you getting your replacement. I had a standard DS1 CPAP that got replaced by a DS2 within about 3-4 months of when I registered. I did send back the recalled DS1.

I've been registered since day 2 of the recall. Had a few meaningless emails in response, that's it. I'll be moving in the near future and I expect anything they ship will be shipped to the wrong address. Moreover I ordered a new Resmed machine the day the recall was announced. I neither need nor want a replacement - refurbished or otherwise. If I were an attorney I'd consider some action to recover a cash payment instead of any of these crap refurbished or replacement units. Just give me the money at this point I've already moved on.

well, philips isn't exactly bowling us over with any information, are they?

personally i think they will continue to send out replacements in dribs and drabs, but what the hell do *I* know?
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.
