Yes. I am aware of Bluetooth. If Bluetooth was NOT enabled what do you think the modem would do in terms of phoning home? The cpap machine modem is going to phone home no matter if it is also communicating with the cell phone via Bluetooth.
The Bluetooth means that the machine can convey data to the phone and the phone then uses its ability to connect to the internet and then access MyAir.

If the phone had its internet connection lost....do you think Bluetooth could transmit anything anywhere??
If someone didn't sync up the machine and the phone using Bluetooth do you think the cpap machine won't phone home?
Yup, that's how it works mostly, so long as the cellular service is available and host at the receiving end uploads to MyAir. If that fails the BT via the bridged connection to the smartphone usually works reliably and that appears to be what lynninnj may be using if her cell service is not working as it should. At times when the celluar modem in my CPAP fails to connect, my smartphone bridges the CPAP app data through my wifi to the internet as I most times have smartphone cellular data turned off in the phone.
All the Bluetooth connection does (currently) is send the serial number to the phone so the user doesn't have to enter it in.

The MyAir data is not being transmitted from the Air 11 to the phone via Bluetooth. That data transfer still happens the same way as the Air10.

Device sends data to Cloud via cellular, ResMed process data, after about an hour Data is available to MyAir via Web or phone App, The phone or web app then retrieves the data via internet.

Perhaps [probably] one day the data will be transferred directly from device to one's phone, but that's not how it's done yet.
see now I have been experimenting with this.

Some mornings when I wake up and turn on the app I can see it only goes up till the last time I got up to go to the bathroom.

This morning I decided after I turn the machine off I would turn it on again and then turn it right off. Lo and behold I had the full data package right away.

Normally there is a delay like you said but not this time. I’m gonna try this again tomorrow. My thought is that it goes back to the last time that you turn the machine off and on.
When Air 11 (and Air 10s) are powered up, they will initiate a connection (via cell) to the resmed servers for configuration changes and data transfer.

Once upon a time, I did some experimenting with the myAir selection which is in the machine's display reports (AS10). It seemed clicking on myAir would also initiate the cell connection and data transfer. Since I rarely use myAir, I didn't experiment but a few mornings.

Why else would there be a myAir selection on the machine's display? I can't imagine.

Should I wrap my machine in Mylar  and try and experiment in the morning?

I made a presumption the AS11 functioned similar to the DS1 and DS2 in regards to data in DreamMapper, evidently incorrectly if in fact it works as you state and I apologize. With both my DS1 and DS2 there have been occasions that data in DreamMapper doesn't show for several days, sometimes up to a week. I contacted Respironics tech support and they explained that sometimes the host that receives the cellular data may be offline/disconnected from transferring the data to DreamMapper due to maintenance or system updates, but the data is there when the reconnection is made to DreamMapper. They recommended using BT to populate DreamMapper when this occurs. During these times when the cellular data is not available to DreamMapper on my PC through an internet connection, I've connected via Bluetooth to either the DS1 or DS2 with my smartphone. The DreamMapper app states I need an internet connection to proceed. This is to load the DreamMapper app I am signed into and to ID the machine. Once connected to the DreamMapper app it 'downloads' the data (presuming from the CPAP via BT) to the smartphone, which then populates the DreamMapper app data both on my smartphone as well as the DreamMapper website on my PC (the populating of the data actually takes place in the 'cloud' where the DreamMapper app resides). The speed of which the data download/transfer occurs would lead me to believe the data is not coming from the internet, as it's very slow for what should be not much data and I can't imagine the DreamMapper app would connect to the Respironics primary host to retrieve cellular data as that could present a security issue that has the potential to be hacked.

Pretty poor on Resmeds part to not have an alternative means of of accessing ones data on MyAir that might have been done through BT, particularly if cellular reception is poor to none. I do have an AS10 and have used MyAir. Neither MyAir or DreamMapper give a lot of info, but does serve as a quick check to see if anything in OSCAR should be looked at.
I think someone noted a few posts back the sometimes it takes a couple hours for the Resmed data to show up in MyAir and probably the AS11 doesn't send immediately at the end of a session. It would be interesting to try to grab the data via BT at that time and see what takes place.

I have, and always will have AIRPLANE MODE turned on, on all my machines.
That way no info is transmitted out, nor is any info transmitted into my machine. :D :D

You know, if they are really out to get you, the Airplane mode is fake, and the machine still transmits and receives.

lol

i saw the airplane mode and was tempted to turn it on at some point but I kinda like the app and not sure if bt to the app will still work.

While the app is lame compared to a full oscar readout, something like this morning’s 1.2/hr wouldn’t inspire me to even take out the chip to give a look.

kwim?

I respectfully disagree.
Airplane mode turns off all radios contained within a device, on which it is turned on.
Try this, turn airplane mode on, on your cell phone, and have gramps call you to see if you can still receive phone calls.

Yeah, that's what they want you to think. Tech companies have absolute power, which corrupts them absolutely.

It's very easy for a tech company to engineer an Airplane mode that would appear to work properly to the user but still transmit and receive to/from the manufacturer.

An example of data transfer from a Philips DS2 via Bluetooth to the DreamMapper 'cloud' app. No data for 8/7/22 as of 8:38 AM nor 1:20PM when checked on my PC as the host servers Respironics uses to retrieve cellular data had not as of yet updated DreamMapper. I initiated BT transfer at about 1:22PM and it completed at 1:24PM. Transfer was through my WiFi to the internet up to the DreamMapper app. Screenshots of DreamMapper on PC.

I'm just surprised ResMed is said not to use a similar method to upload to MyAir if the previous post stating such is correct.
