Quick Question - Bix CP190 CPAP battery not charging?

Post by betsys » Sun Jul 24, 2022 12:59 am

Please help - I am going camping in a few days and haven't used the CP190 battery in ummmmm three years. (which I am just realizing was not the best practice)

It's not charging. I can't find my docs, nor any docs online.
Is this supposed to charge with the power switch on or off or does it matter?

The charger shows a red power light but not the other lights (they do flash momentarily if I disconnect/reconnect the cable)
The battery shows nothing
When I push the battery charge indicator it lights red-green-green-green

Any clues welcome! I'm going to be really scrambling to get a new battery if this won't work

(I did find what appears to be the latest Resmed guide at https://document.resmed.com/en-us/docum ... lo_eng.pdf)

thanks for any clues!

No battery will last if it sits for a long period of time. you must keep the state of charge close to 100 percent. do you have a dc converter with your cpap. if you do, just plug in to a deep cycle battery or get one of those cheap battery solar battery boxes.

Thanks, it's definitely dead. I will know for next time!

I was very nervous about ending up camping with no CPAP so I went ahead and ordered a Jackery Explorer 240 , after reading the many comments about it, because I could get my hands on it today. It's not officially powerful enough for a CPAP but I think it will work for my needs. I can recharge every day while camping (am volunteering at a festival) and my pressure is not that high. Also, importantly, I'm going to need to carry it an unknown distance to recharge it. For six days a year, hopefully it will be ok.

Jackery 240 comes with a lithium battery. if you use this battery wisely. it will last many years. this battery stores 240 watts. I don't know what c-pap you have. you should be able to get 2 nights with 240 watts if you use air only. if you need heated air and humidity. it will only last for one night. If I was using this battery. 1 night use would be all I would use because if I draw down the battery all the way. i'm shortening the life of the battery. if you have a battery gauge on this Jackery. when you see 50 percent power left. its time to think about charging the battery. when done using it store it with a 100 percent charge and check it every month to see you have 100 percent. do this it will last for many years.
