New APAP machine with Oscar

Post by coolbranch » Sat Jul 16, 2022 1:58 pm

Next week I will start using RM Autoset 11 and semi-retire my Autoset 10 for a spare.
I will continue to use Oscar with new machine.
1. Do I continue on with new machine using the SD card I was using in the Autoset 10?
2. Is there anything special I need to do with Oscar settings, profile, etc. ?
Thank you!

  • Backup your SD Card to your computer, if you foresee the potential of ever needing it.
  • Format your existing SD Card, though your Air 11 will off to "prepare it". This step is *probably* not necessary but I have heard that OSCAR may have issues if it finds data from two different machines
  • OSCAR has no problems importing data from multiple machnes from the same manufacturer, so you can just import into your exiting profile.
  • Consider getting a new SD Card

I don't know if you knew this or not but the latest version(s) of OSCAR has the calendar turned off by default so we won't be seeing the calendar so often now with new screen shots. If someone wants the calendar to show they have to do a special step now. This was a request made by many people and the OSCAR writers heard us.

I read data from two entirely different machines into the same Oscar profile and Oscar has no issues with it.
It simply recognizes which machine it is reading from and charts the data for a given period, accordingly.
Some issues arise when I use both my Resmed and my Respironics within the same calendar day.
In such a case, Oscar gives priority to the data that is read first and ignores the second set of data for that particular day as it can't chart data from two different sources on the same calendar day.
Other than that it works well.
Good luck.
Even though I have had extensive experience with the use and functionality of several types of different PAP machines,no information in my posts should be put in practice unless cleared by your own medical practitioner first.

Complete new device setup and imported data from first sleep session with clean SD card. Oscar read data and updated APAP equipment correctly. Oscar smart.
