Hello,
I am back on CPAP, my machine is a Resmed 10 elite, set to 8cmH2O, face mask Airfit hybrid F30 with a cotton liner.
I feel awful this morning, AHI at 34 (16.4 OA, 14.10 CA). The other night it was 7.5 AHi.
It seems that the nasal part of the mask is blocking my nostrils, too tight or is misaligned and I end up mouth breathing.
Is there any particular technique is getting the nasal part to fit, it be could the holes are not lined up or I have the nasal part squished partly restricting breathing. Note I have realigned the tube to attach to my head gear.
Thank you !

There are UTube videos re fitting most masks - see what you can find there.

Re: Resmed F30 mask causing AHI to dramatically increase
I use a ResMed F30 mask. It leaks like crazy. I have watched videos, etc. Nothing seems to work to curtail the leakage. Because of the high leakage, you are going to have a higher AHI. I used to use the F20. No leakage and much much lower AHI. However, I would wake up in the morning with a giant red whelp on the bridge of my nose. So, it's a tradeoff. I am keeping my AHI in the under 2.0 range, so i think it is acceptable and I do not have the red whelp.

What is your leak level?
It's a mistake to assume that a mask that leaks for one person will leak for all persons. 65 of 151 users gave this mask five-star reviews - https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... er-reviews

Realigning the tube to attach it to your headgear is most probably the cause of the squish and discomfort.
Mouth breathing through a full face mask should not cause the AHI you've experienced. Full face mask are intended for those who tend to mouth breathe.
My guess it that you tend to make both masks very tight, and the high AHI you have from the F30 is an indication of the arousals caused by the basic discomfort of your present configuration.

Re: Resmed F30 mask causing AHI to dramatically increase
The ResMed F30 is not made to attach the tubing to the headgear. Check out the F30i - the mask fits under the nose like the F30 but the tubing attaches at the top of the head.
